| The Polk - Des Moines Taxpayers
Association is a private, non-profit research organization founded in
1921. The operating philosophy of the Association is based upon
the principle that good government is the business of every citizen.
The Association holds as its purpose the promotion of efficient and
economical local government. The Association accomplishes this by
performing public finance research and providing that research to
citizens and government. On our website, you will find a calendar listing upcoming events, our position statements, our monthly newsletter along with current issues, and links to other informational sites.
